uk.gf.cx/abbeyroad — Abbey Road flat substrate, smaller pa.gf.cx-shaped pattern (parked 2026-05-26)
DARE.CO.UK · PARKED SKETCH · 2026-05-26
Mirrored from ~/.claude/.../memory/parked_sketch_uk_abbeyroad_substrate_2026-05-26.md. This is a design sketch parked for future build — read for context, not as a current deliverable.
Dan wants a small property-OS substrate for the Abbey Road flat, mirroring pa.gf.cx’s system-card landing pattern at smaller scale. ~6 active rooms/systems as cards (electrics, heat/hot water, kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom) plus hvac as a future card. First record to seed: an MVHR/HVAC-in-attic photo Dan shared on 2026-05-26 to be parked at /abbeyroad/hvac-project/ when the substrate is built. Resume when Dan re-shares the photo and is ready to scaffold.
Dan, 2026-05-26 (mid-cycle during chainsaw-photo work): “can you park this picture in uk.gf.cx/abbeyroad/hvac-project — nothin exists rn, but I’m keen to build out a similar smaller pattern for the abbey road flat. it will use icons like pa.gf.cx — smaller set of cards, includes electrics, heat/hot water, kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom, hvac (future).”
Plus: “park until you are free.” — explicit park signal.
Shape
A miniaturised pa.gf.cx — same .system card pattern from
feedback_pa_scope_icon_asset_library.md, fewer cards, room-scale instead
of country-house-scale. Lives under the existing uk.gf.cx zone (Pages
project gfcx-uk per the deploy projects list).

Seed photos shared 2026-05-26 (all pending re-share — chat-attachment paths vanished, no disk copy was capturable in-session)
Per feedback_check_trash_for_disappeared_image_attachments.md, when re-attaching, drop to ~/Desktop/ and tell me the path so I can sips + slug + commit.
Photo 1 · MVHR/HVAC-in-attic
- Subject: stainless mechanical-vent unit (likely MVHR — mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) mounted on suspension straps from the apex; insulated silver flexible ducting branching out to multiple rooms; UNILIN-branded foil-backed insulation panels lining the rafters; electrical cabling routed below; toolbox at the camera’s foot suggesting active install/commissioning.
- Intended home: /abbeyroad/hvac-project/
- Suggested slug: abbeyroad-mvhr-attic-install-hero.jpg — capture brand from rating plate when re-shared.
Photo 2 · Sliding-door concept collage (received later in same session)
- Subject: 3-image collage of pocket-/sliding-door installations Dan is using as design reference. Top-left: dark-stained timber door with frosted-glass insert in a modern bedroom (red abstract art on wall, walnut bedside cabinet). Bottom-left: light oak/birch pocket door half-slid into the wall, opening onto a compact bathroom with freestanding tub. Right (largest image): dark charcoal-finish pocket door sliding into wall, opening to a stone-feature-wall bathroom with freestanding tub on dark wood floor.
- Intended home: /abbeyroad/concepts/ or /abbeyroad/sliding-doors/ — reference imagery for considering pocket-door installs between bathroom / living room / bedroom.
- Suggested slug: abbeyroad-sliding-door-concept-reference-collage.jpg
Photo 3 · Living room current state (2025/26) (received same burst as photo 2)
- Subject: attic-conversion living room as it stands. Two dormer windows with timber Venetian blinds; pale-walled / white-ceiling; pale-oak engineered timber floor; yellow corduroy/upholstered sofa front of frame; white metal wire shelving unit on left wall (with a small fan tucked beneath); pink children’s chairs at a small white desk to the right; radiator below the windows; vase of daffodils on the shelf; small dark sideboard right-foreground with ceramic bowls. Reads warm, daylit, family-friendly.
- Intended home: /abbeyroad/living-room/ — hero / current-state for that system card.
- Suggested slug: abbeyroad-living-room-current-2026-hero.jpg
Heraldic icons (assets.gf.cx)
feedback_pa_scope_icon_asset_library.md already establishes the icon
library at assets.gf.cx/icons/heraldic/. pa.gf.cx uses: contractors,
workshop, hearth, vehicles, pool, well-water, electrical. For abbeyroad
we’d want new icons:
- electrics (might reuse pa’s electrical.svg)
- heat-hot-water (new — radiator + flame?)
- kitchen (new — pot or hob)
- bathroom (new — tap)
- living-room (new — sofa?)
- bedroom (new — bed?)
- hvac (new — duct + fan?)
Sketch sketch: when building, batch the icon set as a single asset commit so all rooms have heraldic emblems day one. Emoji fallback per the parent icon-library memory.
Build plan (when resumed)
- Scaffold
uk.gf.cx/abbeyroad/index.html— copy pa.gf.cx’s homepage structure, trim to 6+1 system cards, set lede to “Abbey Road · London flat operating system” or similar. - Add the 6 placeholder room directories + index.html stubs (each says “First record pending” until the first real artefact lands).
- Add the HVAC project directory + drop in the parked photo as the hero.
- Add new heraldic icons to
assets.gf.cx/icons/heraldic/and reference. - Deploy via
wrangler-deploy pages deploy . --project-name=gfcx-uk(the gfcx-uk Pages project exists per today’s project list). - Add
/abbeyroadshortlink redirect at the top-level uk.gf.cx if useful.
Resume conditions
- Dan re-shares the HVAC photo (chat-attachment-pattern means today’s image is gone)
- Dan affirms ready to build (probably after the next visit to the flat, when there’s a small batch of room-equipment photos to seed the cards)
- OR Dan starts an HVAC build with documented contractor visits — at which point /hvac-project/ becomes the contemporaneous build log
